MacBook Operating Systems Update

LISTEN UP, STUDENTS: IF you have a number “1” showing in your blue and white A (App store icon) in your dock, that means you most likely have an operating system update available. If so, follow these steps AT HOME ONLY:

  1. Click on the App Store
  2. Click on “Updates” at the top
  3. Look for the update for High Sierra (10.13.6) and click on “Update” to the right of the screen.
  4. MAKE SURE YOU LEAVE YOUR MACBOOK OPEN FOR THE ENTIRE TIME IT IS UPDATING. If you close it, it will not complete the update and will require a ticket to be seen by an IT analyst.

DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT TRY THIS AT SCHOOL AS IT MAY TAKE A LONG TIME. DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT CLOSE YOUR DEVICE WHILE IT IS UPDATING.

Any questions, ask your teacher or Mrs. Edds in the library.

VPN Connecting

Students should be restarting their MacBooks each time they leave or arrive Hocker Grove.  Restarting your computer allows it to connect to the right internet network.  If you aren’t restarting your computer once you get home, you might not be able to connect the VPN.
