School Pictures

School pictures will be handed out today (Monday, Nov. 11, 2019), please ask your student for them.  Currently we do not have a make-up day for Retake Day.  We are waiting on Lifetouch to schedule this day.  As soon as we know we will let everyone be aware of the date.  We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Monday, Nov. 11, 2019  -  Daily Announcements

Ø  Custard and Burgers and Fries, Oh my! Join Student Council for food and fun at our Culver's Night in Mission on Tuesday, Nov 12, from 5-8!   Your StuCo members and some staff members will be there to greet and serve you. Please let your friends and family know!

Ø  Individual Champions were Adam Hagerman and Macvilla Phillips.  Also coming back to Hocker with hardware were Silver Medalist Rhett Lane, Keller Knowles, Jack Taylor, Dylan Kanatzar, and Chris Andrews.  These wrestlers and the rest of the team battled tough all season.  The seventh graders coming back next season should do well if they can get some more athletes to come out.  The Eighth graders will be missed here at Hocker but will have the chance to compete for a State Championship.  Good Luck to All.  A big Thank You to all the Administration and Teachers for all your support in helping these Student-Athletes.  It has been a Fun season.

Students receive a pass to be first in the lunch line, a sign for their yard, and a 10 soar ticket coupon.

Ø  Interested in helping out around the school?  Are you looking for ways to earn community service hours? If so, come to our Helping Hands Club meeting to learn more.   Our club meets every Monday and Wednesday from 3:45 – 4:35.  Meet in the MPR.  If you have questions or would like more information stop by room 106 or email Mrs. Hartegan.

Ø  D&D club afterschool-- meet in the MPR.

Ø  Pep Club- Shawnee Mission North Pep Club will be joining us tonight for the girls basketball game!  Meet us in the cafeteria by 3:50 if you would like to watch the game.  Rides will need to pick you up by 6.

Ø  Today’s rehearsal for the school play requires ALL cast & crew as we’re doing photos for the programs! Crew members may leave with the late bus. Cast should expect to stay until 5:30.

Ø  Come cheer on your Lady Eagles at our home basketball game tonight!

Ø  Jam Session will be Wednesday after school.  New music will be passed out!  

Ø  Battle of the Books club WILL meet on Wednesday, November 13th, after school in the library. Bring your books!

 

Thursday, Nov. 7, 2019  -  Daily Announcements

Ø  Jam Session will be TODAY in the band room! 

Ø  Pep Club members, please join us after school to cheer on our girls basketball teams.  Please have your ride arrive at 6:00.  Wear your pep club shirt to show your school spirit!

Ø  The PTA Fall Mixer is taking place this Friday, November 8 from 6:30 pm-8:00 pm.  Tickets are $5 at the door.  Don’t forget to bring your school ID to get in the door.  It will make the entry process a little smoother for everyone.  Hocker Grove students only!

Ø  Rehearsal for the school play continues this week! We will go until 5:30 this afternoon!  Log on to the rehearsal schedule to see which scenes we’re doing.  TODAY will be our first FULL-RUN so all cast will be called to rehearsal!

Ø  Student Council and Hocker Grove are having our annual canned food drive to support our community this week through next Monday. We hit our goal of 1000 cans last year so we are shooting for that again. Please bring a nonperishable food item and drop it in the box in the main hall near the MPR.  Thank you for being awesome!

Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2019  -  Daily Announcements

Ø  Hocker Grove’s Fall Festival will be on November 6th from 5:30-7:00.  Please join us for food, Zumba, Dungeons and Dragons, games, art activities, a piñata, races, and more. Bring the whole family for an evening of celebrating our diversity at The Grove.

Ø  Basketball Practice will end at 5:15 pm tonight! Please make sure you have a ride home.

Ø  No Battle of the Books today, due to the Fall Festival. Keep reading and if you need another book, come to the library to see Mrs. Edds!

Ø  Your mighty Eagles finished the season 4 – 4.  Last night they defeated Trailridge 42 – 36 and lost by one point to Westridge 34 – 33.  Wrestlers with double wins last night were Adam Hagerman, Sklar Nadir-Young, Joey Piasecki, Keller Knowles, and Jack Taylor.  The District Championships are this Friday at Shawnee Mission Northwest starting at 2 pm.  Come by after school and cheer your Eagles on to victory.

Ø  Interested in helping out, want to get involved here at Hocker Grove.  A new club: “Helping Hands” is forming.  Helping Hands is a community service club specializing in serving the needs here at Hocker Grove.  Club members will help out with bulletin boards, picking up around the building and other tasks.  The club will meet every Monday and Wednesday from 3:45 – 4:35.  Join us today in the MPR to get involved.  If you have questions or want more information stop by room 106.

Ø  LEGO Club will meet after school in room 211.

Ø  Art Club is meeting directly after school in room 34. Do not check in the MPR so we can get started on Sumi Ink painting right away. Late bus will take you home at 4:35pm! No need to sign up- just show up!
